Organisations we work with
Find out how we’ve collaborated with a number of large organisations and corporates to provide the knowledge, skills, and facilities that help them transform their businesses:
Asda
Following a series of collaborations between Asda and the University, we’ve joined forces to work on a range of research projects as part of a strategic data partnership.
Data scientists at the University are working with Asda to gain further understanding of customers’ habits and preferences to guide decisions such as future store locations and improve the efficiency of food supply chains.
The research projects will help to inform food strategies on a city and national level, including ongoing efforts to make healthier and more sustainable food choices more accessible.
Cisco
Our partnership with Cisco, a global leader in digital communications technologies, drives mutual benefit and opens up unique opportunities for students and researchers at the University, with a focus on key sectors including health and healthcare, transport and education.
One of the key areas of collaboration is the use of Cisco Spaces – a new technology that helps monitor the use of space – to help us innovate our campus and University spaces.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
We have strong collaborative links with partners across the NHS. Our principal NHS partner is Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK.
Find out about how we work with Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to develop our students, enhance our research and find novel solutions that help tackle local and global health challenges.
KPMG
We’re collaborating with KMPG on various learning, skills and thought leadership projects to drive value for businesses and entrepreneurs in our region.
Through our partnership with KMPG, we’re supporting entrepreneurs and scaling businesses in Nexus, connecting students and academics with real-world opportunities (including placements, internships, and mentoring), inspiring the next generation of family business leaders and encouraging confidence with numbers amongst school-aged children.
Santander Universities
Our well-established partnership with Santander Universities enables students to receive business support and access fantastic networking opportunities.
Since 2007, Santander Universities, has donated more than £2 million to support student success and progression among those from under-represented groups at Leeds.
Through the partnership, students have benefitted from internships with small and medium-sized enterprises, access to mentors, help with business start-up costs, overseas volunteering and summer schools and invitations to Santander events.
PwC
We have a strong relationship with PwC and have been collaborating for over 20 years.
Our jointly-developed PwC degree apprenticeship programme allowed apprentices earn a BSc in Computer Science with the University while building practical skills through work placements with PwC. The programme had noticeable benefits to teams across PwC and allowed them to build an pipeline of early talent technologists for their organisation.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
Through the Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme, we’ve helped over 100 companies solve key business challenges and make a difference to their customers.
