The Immersive Cognition Lab (ICON) have created a set of tools and programming syntaxes that make behavioural science research through virtual reality more accessible.
They used Unity (a platform for creating and operating interactive, real-time 3D content) which allows logical encoding of common experimental features such as data collection, continuous measures and settings system.
ICON demonstrate, through their own experiment, that the Unity Experiment Framework (UXF) can simplify and speed up VR experiments and allow for larger quantities of data collection, while also allowing for the exploitation of the full power of the Unity game engine.
