What is Clearing?
Clearing is a late application opportunity for students looking to secure a place at university after the UCAS deadline.
You might apply through Clearing if:
- you don’t get the grades you need for your university offers
- you changed your mind about your offer in favour of a different university or course
- you didn’t receive any offers from a university
- you missed the UCAS deadline and haven’t already applied.
When does Clearing take place?
Clearing 2025 opens on Saturday 5 July and runs until October.
A-Level Results Day in England, Northern Ireland and Wales is on Thursday 14 August.
How do I apply through Clearing?
Once Clearing opens on 5 July, you’ll be able to browse our course vacancies and apply online for a place at Leeds whether you have your results or not.
If you already have your results, we’ll review your application and get in touch to confirm if we’re able to offer you a place to join us in September.
If you don’t have your results, you can still apply for a place using your predicted grades.
If you want to wait until you get your results in August, you’ll be able to phone our Clearing call centre which will be open on Results Day from 8am.
We’ll update our website with information about how to contact us closer to the time.
Which courses are available in Clearing?
Register your interest in Clearing and we’ll email you when our 2025 undergraduate course vacancies are published on our website.
