Nichola is a project manager for the Cultural Institute. Her work is focused on building opportunities for students to engage in culture, creativity and artmaking.
She leads on projects to enhance University of Leeds student experience within the curriculum, through their campus environment, and through meaningful collaborations with arts and cultural organisations across the region.
Nichola has managed a variety of initiatives, including a creative wellbeing research programme addressing student loneliness, student artistic commissions, creative events, and volunteering, placement and employment opportunities with creative sector partners. She has a background in communications and has previously delivered high-profile public engagement projects such as the Yorkshire Year of the Textile celebrations.
She is passionate about supporting access and inclusion both within Higher Education and into the cultural sector. Outside the Cultural Institute, she is pursuing a PhD in English Literature at the University of Leicester, focusing on gay fiction in the twentieth century. Her cultural interests include theatre, film, literature and live events.
