English Language minimum for postgraduate study

You will need IELTS 6.5 overall, GCSE English C or 4 or an equivalent qualification: Check which English language qualifications we accept.

If we ask for 2.2, you need:

Fair or Average (3) (2.51-3.50)

If we ask for 1st, you need:

Excellent (5) (4.51-5.00)

If we ask for 2.1, you need:

Good (4) (3.51-4.50)

If we ask for AAB, you need:

  • 5, 5 at Advanced Level, to include specified subjects, and 5, 4, 4 at Intermediate Level
  • 5, 5, 4 at Advanced Level, to include specified subjects

If we ask for ABB, you need:

  • 5, 5 at Advanced Level, to include specified subjects, and 4,4,4 at Intermediate Level
  • 5, 4, 4 at Advanced Level, to include specified subjects

If we ask for BBB, you need:

  • 5, 4 at Advanced Level, to include specified subjects, and 4,4,4 at Intermediate Level
  • 4, 4, 4 at Advanced Level, to include specified subjects

Qualifications we accept for postgraduate study

From 3 - 6 year degrees:

  • Alapfokozat (Bachelor's degree)

If we ask for AAA, you need:

  • 5, 5 at Advanced Level, to include specified subjects, and 5, 5, 4 at Intermediate Level
  • 5, 5, 5 at Advanced Level, to include specified subjects

If we ask for A*AA, you need:

  • 5, 5 at Advanced Level, with one score above 85%, to include specified subjects, and 5,5,5 at Intermediate Level
  • 5, 5, 5 at Advanced level (one subject above 85%), to include specified subjects

Qualifications we accept for undergraduate study

Erettsegi with two subjects at Advanced level and three at Intermediate level; or with three subjects at Advanced level.

Subject specific grades:

  • A* = 5 Advanced level, 85-100%
  • A = 5 Advanced level, 60-84%
  • B = 4

Every subject passed may be considered at least comparable to GCSE grade A*-C, except for English, with the following grades:

  • GCSE A*= Erettsegi 5
  • GCSE A= Erettsegi 5
  • GCSE B= Erettsegi 4
  • GCSE C= Erettsegi 3
