What aspects of online study appealed to you?
“The online study really fit my lifestyle. I was still travelling and moving and had commitments, so having over two years to commit to the timetable required worked perfectly, allowing me to handle my other business commitments, do my travelling and then obtain a Masters. So, it all converged in a very nice way for me.”
How have you found this online course at Leeds?
“It's actually filled my needs quite satisfactorily and some of the casework at Leeds has allowed me to delve into a corporation like Toyota and provide a recommendation on sustainability for that corporation to a new president. That fits perfectly with what I plan on doing once I graduate.”
How would you rate the learning materials provided?
“They flowed very nicely. They were clearly communicated. There was a logical progression in each of the units when we were building towards the complete knowledge of that unit. I gave those a good rating for the way they were organised and communicated.”
What was the highlight of the Sustainable Business Leadership course for you?
“There are a number of them. I'm getting a lot out of the course. The aspect that I see being the most meaningful to me is governance policy, which was entirely new to me. Understanding the role that it plays and how you can adjust through various tools, marketplace tools, command and control tools - that was extremely helpful to me because that was new learning.
“I pride myself on being a good business strategist, but developing a strategy around sustainability was entirely new, and I enjoyed it because I'm familiar with strategy. But I never put the sustainability icing on those cakes along the way, which I'm doing now.”
Why did you choose to study online with Leeds?
“Leeds spoke to me because it was about business, leadership and sustainability. And I think that approach to business leadership really helped me because that's exactly how I intend to use the programme.
“Which is to lead, as opposed to being, you know, someone lower level.”
