Gifts in memory of a loved one

When you make a memorial donation for a loved one, they become a changemaker – and so do you.

We’re here to help you you remember your loved one in the most meaningful way. Donations made in memory change the lives of Leeds students, giving them the gift of a world-leading education, the opportunity to achieve great things and experiences that last a lifetime.

There are many ways of donating in memory.

Set up a collection

By organising a collection for your loved one’s funeral or memorial service, you’ll be honouring them in a meaningful way.

In addition to an in-person collection, you can also create an online in memory page which can act as a memorial for family and friends so their memory lives on. View an example format for your in memory page.

By honouring your loved one in this way you’ll help the University to continue to be at the forefront of tackling inequalities both in our own student community and in wider society.

How to send us your in-person collection

Online

Send your collection donations to us online. Here you can provide the name of the individual you are making a gift in memory of.

If you wish to post your collection donations, please make cheques payable to the University of Leeds. Please send cheques to: Advancement Team, University of Leeds, Leeds, LS2 9JT

Please provide the following information so we can acknowledge your generosity appropriately:

The name of the person the funds are in memory of;
Your details, and where you would like us to send an acknowledgement to.

If you prefer to send us the individual donations we’re happy to process these for you. To keep your donations safe, please don’t send any cash in the post.

Make a single gift in a loved one’s memory

You can make a single memory gift in support of students at the University of Leeds by visiting our online giving page. Here you can provide the name of the individual you are making a gift in memory of.
