Representatives in your country or region

We work with representatives worldwide who can provide you with comprehensive support to apply to Leeds. Use the contact details on this page to find an appointed agent in your city, country or region.

Our representatives, also called agents, are based around the world. They have been carefully selected and are officially appointed University of Leeds representatives. They have been provided with information and guidance on our courses, admissions processes and policies. They will advise you throughout the application process and can help you make an informed decision about studying with us.

Some of our agents will offer face-to-face support and have offices in the town or city where you live. Others may use digital channels to communicate with you.

The University pays commission to these agents if you receive their support and enrol on a course at the University of Leeds. If you use their services it won't affect your chances of being accepted for a course. We work with agents because it extends our global presence and many students find it beneficial to get help with applying for universities.

Please note: If an agent is not listed on this page, the University does not maintain relationships with them or endorse their services.

How our agents can help you

Agents can help you:

  • decide which country and which University is the best study destination for you
  • find a course that best fits your needs
  • understand the suitability of your qualifications and background (please note that our admissions team makes the final decision on your offer)
  • navigate through the application process including preparing and submitting necessary documents and details. However, you (the applicant) remain ultimately responsible for your account and the management of communications
  • by liaising with the University on your behalf, provided you’ve permitted the agent to be listed as your approved representative
  • with your visa application, including advising on the documents you need to provide
  • understand travel advice and guidance before your departure.

Agent responsibilities

We expect our representatives to be reliable, honest, and trustworthy providers of advice and guidance to you and in all aspects of their business. Agents:

  • should always be honest and transparent when communicating information about the University to you. They shall not knowingly provide false, incomplete, or misleading information
  • will act in the best interests of you at all times, providing accurate information that allows you to make informed decisions
  • will always respect your choices
  • cannot make offers of admission on behalf of the University
  • should not enter into any contract or agreement on behalf of the University
  • should not defame or inaccurately convey the reputation or interests of any higher education institutions.

Advice for choosing an agent

At the University of Leeds, we are committed to the UK Agent Quality Framework (AQF) and pledge to create and maintain best practice in agent management. We encourage informed decision-making and transparency for you. We work together with our agents to ensure the UK remains a leading study destination for you and other international students.

  • If you are considering using the services of an agent, we would encourage you to read the British Council’s student guide to choosing an education agent (PDF).
  • Some agents charge students a counselling fee, so we advise you to confirm all costs in advance. You should also check if an agent is authorised to represent the University of Leeds. In some instances our agents may work with other agents (sometimes referred to as sub-agents), but we will not have contracts with these partners, and are unable to support them in the same way.
  • Never pay any course deposits or tuition fee payments to an agent – you should always pay these directly to the University.
  • You can only work with one representative to support you with your application to Leeds. If you are experiencing issues with your nominated agent and you are unable to resolve the issues with them directly, or you want to change your nominated agent, please email the International Office at internationaloffice@leeds.ac.uk
