Saïd Foundation Scholarships

Fully-funded scholarships for outstanding individuals from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine who are looking to study for a one-year Masters degree in the UK.

Value - what funding is on offer: Tuition fees, full maintenance/living costs for the duration of your course, an arrival allowance, visa and healthcare surcharge fees and one economy return flight.
Who is eligible: For applicants with Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian nationality and permanently resident in one of these countries.
Deadline: 31 October 2024, 5pm GMT
Conditions: Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 or higher (or be in the final year of an undergraduate degree). Please see Further Information for more detail.

Candidates will be asked to submit a number of supporting documents with their application, including educational transcripts/certificates, a CV and three recent references, so please read the guidance carefully beforestarting your application.

How the scholarships are awarded

Eligibility check and assessment happens early November 2024 until end of January 2025.  The deadline for providing evidence of having applied to your chosen courses is 31 January 2025.

Interviews will take place in March 2025 and scholars will be selected by the beginning of June 2025.

The Saïd Foundation has offered educational scholarships since 1984. Their scholarships programme aims to empower people through educational opportunities and is targeted towards individuals who demonstrate the potential to become leaders and drivers of change within our target countries of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.

To be considered for a Saïd Foundation scholarship, candidates should:

  • Hold Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian nationality and be permanently resident in one of these countries. The Foundation will consider Syrians residing elsewhere due to current circumstances in the country.
  • Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 or higher (or be in the final year of an undergraduate degree).
  • Have work and/or voluntary experience relevant to their field of study and a clear career plan.
  • Demonstrate leadership potential in their chosen field.

Candidates must also:

  • Apply for a course at one of the Foundation’s UK partner universities.
  • Meet the English language requirements of the Foundation and the University of Leeds when you apply.
  • Submit all required documentation.
