Guide to using the My Leeds portal

This guide will help you to use the My Leeds portal to apply to Masters and postgraduate courses.

Email the Online Admissions team at onlineadmissions@leeds.ac.uk if you need help completing your application.

1. Login or register with the My Leeds portal

To submit your application for a postgraduate course, visit the My Leeds application portal

There are two options for signing in to the portal. 

University of Leeds students

If you are a current University of Leeds student, select ‘Current Leeds Student Email’. 

Non-University of Leeds students

If you are not a current University of Leeds student, you will need to create an account. 

Create an account on the My Leeds portal

  1. Select ‘Personal Email/Social Account.
  2. Select ‘Sign up now’ to create your account.
  3. Enter the email address you used on your original course application.
  4. Select ‘Send verification code’. You will recieve an email with a verification code. 
  5. Enter your verification code.
  6. Choose a password.
  7. Enter your name (spelling must match your original application). 
  8. Select ‘Create’ to create your account.  

2. Confirm email address and set marketing preferences

After creating your account, you will be asked to check your correspondence email address and marketing preferences. These can be changed at any time.

You will also be asked if you have ever studied at the University of Leeds. Select the answer that applies to you.

3. Complete personal details

On the ‘Personal Details’ page, complete any missing fields by selecting ‘Update my details’.

You can also submit an enquiry to the Online Admissions team by selecting ‘Create enquiry’. 

4. Create an application

To create a new application select ‘Applications’ in the navigation menu. On the ‘My applications’ page, select ‘Create a new application’. 

Select your study type and mode of study, then in the ‘Course’ field, select the magnifying glass icon to search for your course.

Select your course from the list then save.

MSc Disability Studies, Rights and Inclusion

When selecting your Programme of Study, ensure you select the ‘Study type’: ‘Masters (Taught Postgraduate)’ and ‘Mode of Study’: ‘Part Time’.  

Important: You must use the exact search wording detailed in this guide or the course will not appear in the ‘Course’ search function.  

  1. Select the magnifying glass icon to start your search.
  2. Once in the Lookup records box, enter the search term ‘MSc Disability Studies’ and select the magnifying glass icon.
  3. Choose the top result for the March 2025 intake or the second result for the September 2025 intake. 
  4. Once you have chosen your programme from the list of results, check the tick box and choose ‘select’.
  5. Select the magnifying glass icon underneath the ‘Course start date’ field to select your preferred start date variant.  

PGCert Disability Studies, Rights and Inclusion 

When selecting your Programme of Study, ensure you select the ‘Study type’: ‘Masters (Taught Postgraduate)’ and ‘Mode of Study’: ‘Part Time’.  

Important: You must use the exact search wording detailed in this guide or the course will not appear in the ‘Course’ search function.  

  1. Select the magnifying glass icon to start your search.
  2. Once in the Lookup records box, enter the search term ‘PGC Disability Studies’ and select the magnifying glass icon.
  3. Choose the top result for the March 2025 intake or the second result for the 16 month variant of the September 2025 intake. Select the third result for the September 2025 intake or choose the fourth result for the 16 month variant of the March 2025 intake. 
  4. Once you have chosen your programme from the list of results, check the tick box and choose ‘select’ to proceed.
  5. Select the magnifying glass icon underneath the ‘Course start date’ field to select your preferred start date variant.

PGDip Disability Studies, Rights and Inclusion  

When selecting your Programme of Study, ensure you select the ‘Study type’: ‘Masters (Taught Postgraduate)’ and ‘Mode of Study’: ‘Part Time’.

  3. Choose the top result for the September 2025 intake or the second result for the March 2025 intake. Select the third result for the March 2025 intake of the 32 month variant or select the fourth result for the September intake of the 32 month variant. 
  4. Once you have chosen your programme from the list of results, check the tick box and choose ‘select’ to proceed.
  5. Select the magnifying glass icon underneath the ‘Course start date’ field to select your desired start date variant.

MSc Genomic Medicine with Data Science  

When selecting your Programme of Study, ensure you select the ‘Study type’: ‘Masters (Taught Postgraduate)’ and ‘Mode of Study’: ‘Part Time’.  

Important: You must use the exact search wording detailed in this guide or the course will not appear in the ‘Course’ search function.  

  1. Select the magnifying glass icon to start your search.
  2. Once in the Lookup records box, enter the search term ‘MSc Genomic Medicine’ and select the magnifying glass icon.
  3. Choose the top result for the September 2025 and March 2026 intakes. Select the second result for the 48 month variant of the March 2025 intake. Choose the third result for the March 2025 intake or select the fourth result for the 48 month variant of the September 2025 intake and the 48 month variant of the March 2026 intake. 
  4. Once you have chosen your programme from the list of results, check the tick box and choose ‘select’.
  5. Select the magnifying glass icon underneath the ‘Course start date’ field to select your desired start date variant.  

PGCert Genomic Medicine with Data Science 

When selecting your Programme of Study, ensure you select the ‘Study type’: ‘Masters (Taught Postgraduate)’ and ‘Mode of Study’: ‘Part Time’.

  1. Select the magnifying glass icon to start your search.
  2. Once in the Lookup records box, enter the search term ‘PGCert Genomic Medicine’ and select the magnifying glass icon.
  3. Choose the top result for the September 2025 and March 2026 intakes. Select the second result for the March 2025 intake. Choose the third result for the 16 month variant of the September 2025 and the 16 month variant of the March 2026 intakes. Select the fourth result for 16 month variant of the March 2025 intake. 
  4. Once you have chosen your programme from the list of results, check the tick box and choose ‘select’.
  5. Select the magnifying glass icon underneath the ‘Course start date’ field to select your desired start date variant.  

MSc Data Science (Statistics)

When selecting your Programme of Study, ensure you select the ‘Study type’: ‘Masters (Taught Postgraduate)’ and ‘Mode of Study’: ‘Part Time’.

  1. Select the magnifying glass icon to start your search. 
  2. In the Lookup records box, enter the search term ‘MSc Data Science’ and select the magnifying glass icon. 
  3. Choose the top result for the March 2025 intake. Select the second result for the September 2025 intake. Select the third result for the 48 month variant of the September 2025 intake.  
  4. Once you have chosen your programme from the list of results, check the tick box and choose ‘select’.
  5. Select the magnifying glass icon underneath the ‘Course start date’ field to select your desired start date variant.  

5. Complete the application sections

Use the ‘next’ button at the bottom of each sedction to proceed to the next section. 

The application status progress bar will show how much of the application you have completed as you progress.

6. Submit your application

Once you have completed all of the application sections, select ‘complete application’. 

The screen will show that your application is being submitted. Before closing the window, wait for confirmation that your application has been submitted.

To return to your completed application, select ‘applications’ using the navigation menu – your application will show under ‘Submitted applications'.
