Gazan Humanitarian Scholarship
We offer scholarships for citizens of Gaza who have been displaced as a result of the ongoing conflict in the region and are living in a different country (outside of the UK).
Applications for the scholarship will open in early 2025. You can register your interest in the scholarship using the form on this page.
Please note, any criteria or features of this scholarship are subject to change until applications open.
The scholarship provides:
- the full cost of tuition fees
- £12,000 in payments given directly to you for accommodation, study and living costs
- £2,500 towards the cost of your travel to the UK, Visa and NHS surcharge (for healthcare)
- full membership to The Edge, the University’s gym and sports centre.
Applying for the scholarship is not an application to gain a place on a course. To apply for a course, you must follow the instructions on your course page on our Course Search website.
Degrees you can study
You can apply for this scholarship if you have an offer or if you have applied for any of the following full-time or part-time degrees:
- A three or four year undergraduate degree (including foundation degrees) starting in the 2025/26 academic year.
- A postgraduate taught degree (Masters) starting in the 2025/26 academic year.
Unfortunately, you cannot apply for this Scholarship for postgraduate research or PhD study.
Check if you are eligible to apply
To apply for this scholarship you must meet all of the following criteria. You must:
- be a citizen of Gaza or have been a citizen of Gaza before the escalation of the conflict in October 2023
- be currently living outside of Gaza or Palestine and not in the UK
- be an applicant who would normally pay for their own tuition fees and living costs (self-funded) and would pay fees as an international (or overseas) student
- have already applied to study a course at the University of Leeds. You do not need to have received your offer before you can apply for the scholarship.
