Studying my Masters was about my professional development and progressing in my career as a physiotherapist. I now work for the Rugby Football Union, the sport’s governing body in England.
Work placements were a highlight of the course. They helped me build my links within the industry, as well as my expertise.
My placements were with GB Basketball and Birmingham Royal Ballet, as well as the NHS, and I’ve continued to work with GB Basketball under-20s women’s team since.
On my course, I learned to interpret and use research, which was especially important in my previous role with Yorkshire County Cricket Club's women's side. There's a fundamental lack of research into women's cricket, so it helped that I could make judgements about other relevant research and use data I got from my players.
My Masters definitely opened up opportunities for me.
