The Remaking Places team is delighted to invite you to an exciting programme of research events to explore cutting-edge issues related to Place and Place-making.
The following gatherings will be opportunities to share ideas, encounter new ways of approaching interdisciplinary topics and make connections.
Location
We’ll be hosted by Imagine Leeds: The Climate Action Hub located on Blenheim Terrace – just across the road from the Laidlaw Library.
Tea, coffee and cake will be provided.

Rethinking Society and Nature Sandpit, Dr Katy Wright – Tuesday 6 May, 1pm to 3pm
Hosted by Dr Katy Wright, this sandpit event focuses on reimagining the conceptual language we use to talk about humans / society and nature.

Displacement and Movement Discussion – Tuesday 13 May, 1pm to 3pm
Join us for a guided discussion led by Dr James Souter to explore the lived-experience of displacement in urban environments.
Sustaining Community Cultural Practices Discussion – Tuesday 20 May, 1pm to 3pm
Join Dr Alex De Little for a conversation on Culture and Place, exploring the role of community cultural practitioners as researchers and how cultural co-production fosters reflexive, place-based practices.
Doughnut Economics Sandpit – Tuesday 3 June, 1pm to 3pm
Calling all researchers interested in Doughnut Economics: Come and engage with the Leeds Doughnut Coalition and explore exciting collaborative opportunities to help make Leeds a city where people and planet thrive.
Alco-tourism Sandpit – Tuesday 10 June, 1pm to 3pm
With questions proposed by Dr Anna Douglas, this event examines the impact of party tourism, crowd behaviour and nighttime economies on neighbourhoods.

9 Blenheim Terrace has a front entrance with seven steps up to the ground floor. The wheelchair-accessible entrance is to the rear, on Back Blenheim Terrace.
Parking is available for Blue Badge holders only, at the rear of the building on Back Blenheim Terrace, which is designated as University of Leeds pink zone car parking.
