Navigating life at university can be challenging, especially for students from underrepresented groups or backgrounds. We work to enableall students to thrive throughout their time at the university, using research and data to inform our approach via a range of interventions.
The Student Success Centre
The Student Success Centre at the University of Leeds is a dedicated collective of specialist teams focused on enabling student success through a range of initiatives. Our team consists of experienced professionals who are adept at identifying and addressing the diverse needs of students throughout their university journey. We provide support both virtually and physically at various locations around campus.
We collaborate with academic and professional staff to empower students to develop the skills they need to achieve their unique goals. Our approach is student-centric, proactively addressing diverse needs, removing barriers to success, and using data-driven insights for continuous improvement. We align our efforts with local priorities, promote wellbeing and belonging, work to improve graduate outcomes, and foster a culture of evidence-based practice and communication.
The Plus Programme
The Plus Programme supports students from backgrounds that are under-represented at university with their move to university life.
Mature students
The Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) provides specialist support to mature students, recognising that they are often juggling many commitments along with study. The LLC offers support during the admissions process and throughout the students’ time at university, including:
- Welcome information
- Financial advice
- Study skills support
- Events and workshops.
