Transcript: Show up against sexual violence

Transcript for the video embedded on the Information about sexual violence page and A community committed to sexual violence prevention spotlight page.

(Person 1 appears on screen, speaking into camera.)

Person 1: Do your mates rate the people they've pulled? Banter about it? Compare notes? Keep a list?

(Person 2 appears on screen, speaking into camera.)

Person 2: Do they share nudes in your group chat? Pass them around a bit?

(Person 3 appears on screen, speaking into camera.)

Person 3: Or maybe you've sent someone you fancy a pic or tried sexting them before you know it's okay?

(Person 4 appears on screen, speaking into camera.)

Person 4: Have you ever slept with someone who smashed? You know, when they're just too out of it to really say yes? Or just assume that you're going to have sex again in the morning?

(Person 5 appears on screen, speaking into camera.)

Person 5: Have you heard a mate make a rape joke? Did you laugh along? Or did you flinch but say nothing. Just let it go.

Person 1: Objectifying someone isn't harmless chat. It's sexual violence.

Person 2: Revenge porn, sharing nudes – Isn’t sharing is caring. It's sexual violence.

Person 3: Unwanted sexting isn't just flirting, it's sexual violence.

Person 4: Sex without consent isn't going out on the pull. It's sexual violence.

Person 5: Laughing about assault isn't dark humour. It’s sexual violence.

Person 1: Sexual violence is more than sexual assault. The ways we think, talk, and act matter.
