Adrian says: Hello there, my name is Adrian Wheway. I'm an enterprise architect at the University of Leeds. 

I've worked here for 18 years. I'm part of a team which is delivering a strategic initiative for the University to modernise the way that we provide application server and storage hosting. 

The University is a really great place to work. It actually delivers such a broad range of different initiatives through learning, teaching and research that I'm often discovering new things that we do. It just makes it really interesting and exciting. 

You work with some amazing people in the top of their field, and with some great teams who really believe and care what they do. The work that we do makes a difference: That's what's kept me here for so long. We enable our thriving community of colleagues to deliver more efficiently and effectively and creatively their learning, teaching and research activities. 

It's been an organisation that's encouraged me to develop my skills and my career through training, mentoring of myself me mentoring other people, as well as an opportunity to move between different roles and develop in them. 

The University is a family-friendly organisation. I've made a lot of friends here across the years. There is a really supportive and caring culture, flexible working arrangements and there's some amazing facilities on the campus as well. There's a fantastic gym, The Edge, which is available to staff to use. There are many attractive reasons for working at the University.  

From an IT point of view it's a very exciting time. There's going to be a lot of changes, there's a lot of investment. There'll also be a lot of use of new technologies to improve the way that we make a positive global impact.
