Megan says: I'm Megan Parsons. I'm digital education manager for engagement and communications at the University of Leeds.

Megan says:  I think it's a hugely exciting time to join the University. Universities are amazing places full of ideas, creativity, inspiring people, and all of that is coming together at the moment in a really powerful way.

The University has a clear vision and a really clear strategy around digital transformation, around what we want to achieve in the next 10 years, doing something about education for a much more global international audience that changes people's lives.

The University is a very flexible place, a very understanding place to work. So part time working; different hours. There's the opportunity to have those kind of conversations and to be a bit more flexible in how you structure your day.

There are loads of benefits, like tonnes: the massive benefit is a nursery on campus, I put my child in the nursery.

You get loads of holiday. After the bank holiday: bank holiday Monday, bank holiday Tuesday. Who knew that was a thing before you joined the University?

I think a great candidate is ideally somebody who can inspire others, take decisions, and lead. Most importantly though, I think somebody who has energy and is prepared to get stuck in, and I think they're really important.

I am very proud to work at the University. I think there’s a huge energy from myself personally, and from the team, from the wider organisation. There is a sense that actually everybody is pulling in one direction.

The job satisfaction and reward comes from feeling that you are doing something and contributing to something that makes a difference.
