Visitors with support needs
We have a wide range of support services available on an Offer Holder Day.
Disabled access
Campus is generally accessible for people with mobility difficulties. When you arrive, look for the signs for the ‘North South Access Route’. This is an accessible route around campus. You can also find this route in the printed guide you will receive on the day.
The route begins at the main entrance of the University – near the Parkinson steps – and ends at the Worsley building. It's marked by signs and involves the use of lifts at some points.
You can also ask one of our friendly student ambassadors in red t-shirts for help navigating campus.
Use our interactive campus map to view locations of:
- routes across campus (use the walks/routes tab)
- disabled access to buildings (use the facilities tab)
- disabled toilets (use the facilities tab).
You can also download our campus map (PDF), download a large print version of the map (PDF) or use an accessible alternative to the map.
Accessible information and support on the day
We can provide:
- Offer Holder Day information in alternative formats such as braille or large print, and we can provide support on the day to navigate campus.
- A Braille version of the Offer Holder Day Guide. Please ask an ambassador or you can email to request this. Your copy will be available to collect when you arrive.
- Large print materials of all talks. Please email to request this two weeks before your Offer Holder Day. Your copies will be available to collect at your sessions.
- A British Sign Language interpreter. Please email to request this three weeks before your Offer Holder Day and be aware it is subject to an interpreter being available.
- Alternative arrangements for sessions that are in non-accessible rooms, where possible. Please make sure you check the accessibility information for the sessions you wish to attend and email us in advance if this is something you’ll need. You can find this information in the specific session descriptions when you book, and on your booking page.
- A quiet space – when you are completing the booking form, please use the designated box to note down whether you require a quiet space and you’ll be directed on the day. Or you can ask one of our ambassadors while you’re on campus.
For all alternative format and on-the-day support requests, please email the Events team at campusvisits@leeds.ac.uk with your requirements at least two weeks before the event. Please note, we cannot guarantee this support if you make a request after the deadline.
For more information about alternative formats or support needs, please email the Events team at campusvisits@leeds.ac.uk.
Parking for Blue Badge holders
We have limited spaces reserved for disabled visitors. If you’re a Blue Badge holder and require parking, please include this on your booking form, or email the Events team at campusvisits@leeds.ac.uk with your name and vehicle registration.
To guarantee Blue Badge parking on an Offer Holder Day, you must submit your request at least 48 hours before the event. For any enquiries about blue badge parking, please email the Events team at campusvisits@leeds.ac.uk.
