Discover Articulation Challenge Competition privacy notice
Find out what data we collect, why we collect it and how long we keep it for the Discover Articulation Challenge competition.
To organise events and activities:
We use your name, video entry, contact details, school, year group/key stage, teacher contact details and parent/carer contact details so that we can organise the activities and support you to take part.
If you aren’t a competition winner:
- Your video will be deleted within one month of the judges’ decisions.
- We will delete your name, contact detail, year group/key stage and school name by the end of the academic year.
If you are a competition winner:
- We will ask permission in advance to share winning video entries and school region on YouTube GB and you will have the option to opt out.
- Winner videos will be deleted from university systems and from YouTube GB by the end of the following academic year.
- Winner surnames and school region are kept for six years to comply with Committees of Advertising Practice Code on Promotional Marketing 8.28.5 as a legitimate interest of the University to evidence fair competition.
We also ask for sensitive data about any disability or health and dietary requirements, known as special category data, so that we can support you to take part. We delete all your disability and health and dietary requirements at the end of the academic year.
Monitoring the impact of the project to improve what we offer:
We ask for your school name, year group and home postcode.
We use this information to understand the impact the Discover Articulation Challenge competition is having, and to make improvements to it.
Information is collected through our student pre- and post-programme questionnaires.
This data will be anonymised at the end of the following academic year.
Anonymous data we collect
We will ask you for your ethnicity, disability and gender but this will be on an anonymous form so you will not be identifiable. You do not have to fill the form out if you do not want to.
