Teacher and advisor communications privacy notice
Find out what data we collect, why we collect it and how long we keep it for, for our communications with teachers, advisors and education professionals.
To organise events and activities:
We ask for your name and contact details, role, school and any access or dietary needs you have. This is so that we can organise activities to support you or your students to take part. We collect this information on forms and keep it until the end of the event, unless you sign up to our mailing list (see below).
Please note we will keep a record of your school and which activities you participated in to evaluate the impact of our programme for up to three years, but you will not be identified in this record.
To build relationships with schools:
The University has a public duty to work closely with schools and colleges to improve access and participation to higher education and raise the attainment of young people. We will collect contact information from school websites or by calling the school for contact details. We may contact you by phone or email to discuss how the University of Leeds can work with your school and to provide information on opportunities we feel will be of value to you and your students. We will keep your details indefinitely however if you no longer wish to hear from us you can let us know at any time if you email the Educational Engagement team at educationoutreach@leeds.ac.uk and we will flag your record as ‘do not contact’.
To send you information about other events and activities:
If you sign up to our mailing list we will use your name, contact details, school, role and areas of interest to send you relevant opportunities that support you and/or your students’ education and development. We only do this with your permission when you complete our mailing list sign up form; we keep your information indefinitely, but you can update your preferences or unsubscribe at any time.
Improving what we offer:
We may invite you to take part in evaluation surveys or focus groups to help us to improve the service that we offer to schools and colleges. To do this we will ask you for your name and contact details, your role and school, your areas of interest and your opinions on a range of things such as education and opportunities for young people.
